Chicago voted today to ban hemp “to protect kids.”

Perfect timing, because my FOIA response on this exact issue also arrived today and instead of anything about hemp or kids, it’s 70+ pages of blacked-out emails about:

• cannabis money

• cannabis enforcement

• cannabis rulemaking

• and even the GOMB (Governor’s budget office)

Not a single page about minors.

Not a single page about hemp.

It’s almost like the “protect the children” line was the marketing…

and the real conversations were happening somewhere else entirely.
