Tacos & Tequila Festival Chicago 2026 Preview: Tacos, Tequila, and Catching Up With Mims

Tacos & Tequila Festival Chicago 2026 Preview: Tacos, Tequila, and Catching Up With Mims

The 2000s never died. They just moved and added tacos.

The Tacos & Tequila Festival rolls back into Chicago for its fourth straight year on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Northwestern Medicine Field. Same formula that made it a touring machine: a full day of throwback 2000s hip-hop and R&B, local taco vendors, margaritas, tequila tastings, and enough side attractions to fill the gaps between sets.

The Lineup

Rick Ross and Three 6 Mafia top the bill. Behind them: Ginuwine, Xzibit, Chamillionaire, Yung Joc, Frankie J, Mims, and DJ Ashton Martin holding down the throwback mixes all day. More artists are expected to be announced, so consider this the opening bid.

Read that list again. That's not a festival lineup, that's a time machine. Stay Fly. Tear Da Club Up. Lean Back. Pony. Ridin'. It's Goin' Down. This Is Why I'm Hot. Every one of these songs still works, and hearing them live with a margarita in your hand is the entire point of this event.

The Basics

Saturday, September 26. Gates open at 1:30 PM at Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva, Illinois home of the Kane County Cougars. This is a 21-and-older event, and all ticket sales are final, so commit.

Beyond the stage: the area's best tacos and street eats, craft margaritas, tequila tastings, lucha libre wrestling matches, a Chihuahua beauty pageant (yes, really, and yes, we're covering it), an exotic car showcase, and art installations built for photos.

Tickets and Packages

Early bird general admission starts at $60.98. VIP runs $114.98 and gets you early entry, elevated viewing areas, private bars, and exclusive drink inclusions. Bottle service tables and group packages are available by inquiry. Prices go up as tiers sell out, so waiting costs money.

The Tour

This isn't a one-city thing. Tacos & Tequila is a full touring festival produced by Social House Entertainment, a Kansas City-based company that has pulled more than a million fans through its events since 2021 this festival plus PhaseFest, Haywire, Country Rising, and their holiday productions.

The 2026 route is a beast. Houston got Three 6 Mafia and Fat Joe at Sam Houston Race Park in April. San Antonio got Three 6 Mafia headlining at Retama Park in May. Pittsburgh got Fat Joe at EQT Park in August. Kansas City got the hometown treatment at Legends Field. And that's not even all of it the tour also hits Milwaukee, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Omaha, St. Louis, Colorado Springs, and Winnipeg, with lineups shuffled per market (T.I., Soulja Boy, Trina, Ying Yang Twins, and Too $hort all do select cities). Chicago closes out the run in September with Rozay and Three 6 Mafia on top. Different cities, different headliners, same deal: throwbacks, tacos, tequila.

Why We're Especially Locked In

Here's where it gets personal. Scroll that lineup again and you'll see Mims 'This Is Why I'm Hot' Mims who we met at the Summer’s End Smoke Out. We noticed he was on this bill and reached out to our friend from that night, J Meast, his DJ.

We're looking forward to catching up with both of them and getting more content interviews, behind-the-scenes, whatever the day gives us. That's the part of this job that never gets old: you meet good people at one event, and the next thing you know you're pulling up to their set at a festival with tacos.

Tacos, tequila, throwback hip-hop, lucha libre, and a Chihuahua beauty pageant. If that sentence doesn't sell you, nothing will. We'll see you there come find us, we'll be the ones near the tacos.
