I've been doing a lot of interviews and conversations with companies for F'nAround's writing and marketing work. Sometimes the conversation takes an unexpected turn when people hear what we've been through, and what some people will do to stop or silence us.
Lately, those conversations keep drifting toward politics.
Which is funny, because anyone who knows me knows I hate the limelight. The fact that my profiles are public and people know who I am still irritates me. My ideal career plan is to privatize everything, disappear behind a curtain and get back to doing what I do best: strategizing. With more writing and research this time.
But all that talk sent me down a rabbit hole: If I were working behind the curtain on a mayoral campaign, how would I size up the field? What are each candidate's biggest vulnerabilities? What arguments would an opponent build around them?
So, purely for shits and giggles, I did the research and turned the thought experiment into a Chicago mayoral race breakdown, with a teaser Knockout File.
I am not running for mayor. I'm not trying to be a politician. I'm a PhD researcher and strategist who got curious about how the race looks when you study the candidates the way their opponents will.
