A small milestone, and a meaningful one: my academic work just reached one on our first week on ResearchGate.
Most people know F'nAround for our videos, music, articles, and reviews. But we also publish academic research, work with DOI identifiers that readers can examine, discuss, and cite.
My research looks at institutional behavior, transparency, and regulatory oversight, including the public qnd court records surrounding Illinois cannabis regulation and nuEra Cannabis. These are serious questions, and they deserve careful scrutiny.
Before publication, we offered every regulator involved the chance to read the work and comment for the record: the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA), the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC), the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, the Office of the Governor of Illinois, and Kentucky's Office of Medical Cannabis. None were willing. The academic record stands as is.
It's encouraging to see the work reaching readers beyond our usual audience, including people connected to universities around the world. Every read is a chance for these ideas and records to enter a wider conversation.
From Chicago stories to research with a global audience: we keep putting the work out there and letting people examine it.
