December 11, 2025 11:54 AM Missed call and voicemail from an Assistant Attorney General in the PAC office requesting confirmation on whether IDFPR had responded to my FOIA request that has been pending in PAC review for several weeks.
December 11, 2025 12:04 PM Returned his call and confirmed that IDFPR has not responded. He stated he would be sending a follow-up inquiry to IDFPR later today and would cc me on the communication. He was professional, courteous, and transparent throughout the call.

December 19, 2025 9:23 AM Following a written admission that mandatory reporting duties were not performed, a DOJ Civil Rights complaint was filed alleging IDFPR violated state procedural law under color of state authority to shield a licensed cannabis operator.
January 21, 2026 4:11 pm IDFPR issues a new response releasing the complainant’s original complaint, despite the FOIA having already been resolved months earlier following review by the Public Access Counselor.
January 26, 2026 12:42 pm The Public Access Counselor responded to two filings concerning IDFPR, explaining that specific records were withheld as permitted because they relate to an active investigation of the licensee. The PAC further indicated that the response was prepared following consultation with supervising counsel.

May 14, 2026 11:11 am FOIA request to IDFPR to see if they followed the mandatory reporting duties for a felony admission of violating a zero tolerance money laundering policy after the OEIG ordered them to fix their failure to report after they admitting to failing to report crimes in 2025 for other violations.
May 21, 2026 4:53 pm IDFPR responded to FOIA for mandatory reporting duties with too burdensome to narrow with keywords search as 9,047 emails were found to avoid claiming they committed a crime as OEIG already was filed for the last admittance for failure to report a crime response and they were told to fix it and didn’t.
