North Coast Music Festival 2026: Who’s Playing, What’s There and What to Know Before You Go

Chicago gets one more enormous weekend of electronic music before summer disappears.

North Coast Music Festival returns September 4–6, 2026, taking over SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview for three days of EDM, bass, house, techno, art, food and enough flashing lights to make you temporarily forget Labor Day means summer is basically over.

And North Coast isn’t exactly new at this anymore.

16 Years of North Coast

North Coast celebrates its 16th year in 2026, making it one of the longest-running major electronic music festivals in the Chicago area.

The festival originally launched in Chicago in 2010 and spent years at Union Park, where its programming stretched beyond strictly electronic music and included hip-hop, jam, electronic and experimental acts.

North Coast eventually evolved much more heavily toward EDM and moved to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview.

That move also gave the festival considerably more room to become what it is today: less a collection of stages in a park and more an electronic-music playground.

For 2026, organizers are advertising 75+ performers across six stages over three days.

The 2026 Lineup

The easiest way to describe this year’s lineup is that North Coast went big.

Friday September 4

FISHER leads Friday’s lineup alongside Levity B2B Tape B and a Porter Robinson DJ set.

Friday also brings Dabin, Alignment, Bou, DRAMA, Jade Cicada, Level Up, SIPPY, TroyBoi, GRAVEDGR, Wuki, Emorfik, Viperactive, MAD DUBZ B2B VKTM and more.

And Chris Lorenzo is Friday’s special guest.

For anyone who likes bouncing between house and bass music without making any real commitment to a genre, Friday should keep you busy.

Saturday September 5

Saturday belongs to GRiZ.

He’s joined by Ganja White Night, Wooli, Holy Priest, Lilly Palmer, Mersiv, Restricted, ARMNHMR, ALLEYCVT, Nostalgix, YDG, Flowdan, Marie Vaunt, Mary Droppinz, JSTJR, Super Future and others.

Translation: Saturday could get heavy.

Very heavy.

Sunday September 6

Then North Coast closes the weekend with ILLENIUM and SLANDER, alongside Gryffin, Crankdat, BUNT., Sammy Virji, Interplanetary Criminal, Deorro, Tchami, William Black, Angerfist, 3BALLMTY, REAPER, Jazzy, Nikolina, DJ_Dave, 33 Below and more.

That’s a pretty serious way to close Labor Day weekend.

Six Different Stages

North Coast isn’t built around one giant main stage.

The festival spreads artists across six stages and environments, including:

The Stadium the massive centerpiece inside SeatGeek Stadium.

The Vega another major outdoor production stage.

The Shipyard a huge industrial-style stage environment.

The Firepit exactly the kind of name you’d expect at an electronic festival.

The Chill Dome an indoor escape when you need to decompress.

Silent Disco throw on headphones and choose your own adventure.

That variety is one of North Coast’s biggest advantages. You can leave a giant stadium production, wander into something considerably more intimate and then somehow end up wearing headphones dancing beside strangers.

Food, Vendors & Things to Do

North Coast isn’t pretending everyone can survive three days on bass drops and hydration packs.

There are two food courts featuring food trucks and tents, with vegetarian and vegan options available.

There’s also the Coastie Cafe, with Michelin-starred chef Brian Fisher at the helm.

The festival hasn’t published a clean comprehensive public list of every individual 2026 food/vendor booth that we could verify, so we’re not going to make one up. We’ll update our coverage and probably eat our way through some of them from the festival.

But food is only part of it.

North Coast’s grounds also include massive sculptures, live art, roaming performers, sidequest games, kandi and body-art stations, hidden parties, tunnels, light installations, bubble machines, drone shows and fireworks.

There’s also a Ferris wheel and swing tower, giving you an aerial look across the festival grounds and toward the Chicago skyline.

Basically, getting distracted on your way from one set to another is part of the experience.

Doors open at 2 p.m. each day.

Friday runs until midnight.

Saturday runs until midnight.

Sunday wraps earlier at 10:30 p.m.

North Coast is 17+, and attendees need a valid government-issued photo ID.

There is also no re-entry, so don’t make it through security and suddenly remember your portable charger is sitting on the kitchen counter.

Another change for 2026: North Coast is cashless. Attendees can register their RFID wristbands and use them to pay at bars, merchandise stands and food vendors throughout the festival.

And Then There Are the Afterparties

Apparently three straight days of electronic music isn’t enough.

North Coast’s official Night Lights afterparty series spreads the weekend into venues throughout Chicago and near the festival.

Friday includes Tape B at Ramova Theatre, Dabin at House of Blues, Level Up at Sound-Bar, Wuki at ÉLA and a Brownies & Lemonade takeover promising surprise guests at Polekatz.

Yes.

North Coast is officially throwing an afterparty at a strip club.

We appreciate the commitment to variety.

Saturday includes GRiZ at Ramova, Ganja White Night and SIPPY at House of Blues, Marie Vaunt at Hideaway and ARMNHMR at Sound-Bar.

Sunday keeps going with ILLENIUM at TAO, SLANDER at Sound-Bar, 33 Below at Hideaway and 3BALLMTY at Polekatz.

Because apparently Labor Day Monday is a problem for Future You.

Sixteen Years and Still Going

Chicago doesn’t exactly suffer from a shortage of music festivals.

That’s what makes North Coast’s longevity interesting.

Festivals appear.

Festivals disappear.

Lineups change.

Musical tastes change.

And North Coast has managed to keep evolving for 16 years, eventually turning itself into one of Chicagoland’s signature Labor Day weekend events.

This weekend, more than 75 artists descend on Bridgeview for three days across six stages.

FISHER.

GRiZ.

ILLENIUM.

SLANDER.

Ganja White Night.
